Feng Shui Hosting a Neighborhood Party

Conflict is as old as the history of the world going all the way back to biblical tales of conflict. You may well blame yourself for being the cause or initiating conflict between yourself and your neighbor or neighbors. Or on the other foot it may appear to be the other one – the neighbor or members of your neighborhood who have initiated the conflict or are being most unreasonable. Eerily it may be that the conflict was not initiated or started by either of you or the parties involved but rather because of as a result of Feng Shui principles wrongly, inappropriately or inadvertently applied to the layout or décor of your home, office or abode.

As an example of Feng Shui principles being applied in a wrong or unhelpful manner it may well is, or occurred accidentally or inadvertently that your living areas which are full of Yang might well run alongside your neighbor’s sleeping areas which are Yin and quiet. Ditto that for the placement of a noisy heat pump or air conditioner unit or units alongside a most quiet and even quaint Yin endowed location that your neighbor or even the adjacent neighborhood value for as a place of serenity and solitude.

On the other side, your bedrooms might well be located against the neighbor’s driveway, which as well is not a recipe for a tale of harmony and congruity among you two or three. What to do? What steps and plans can be followed to restore friendship or at least peace and harmony to the abodes, offices, apartments or living areas?

First of all try an old fashioned “housewarming “party or even a neighborhood party, fest or even celebration. It need not be as elaborate as a wedding banquet. Invite all. Invite the whole neighborhood – come feast or famine to the event and the celebrations. Remember the whole point of the exercise is to show your most friendly intentions.

At the event itself – be it the single home housewarming party , a neighborhood or block celebration or whatever the positive friendly event is show every guest – everyone and anyone – your most friendly and genuine intensions. It cannot be any other way.

At the party or celebration it makes sure that you make plenty of noise. Lots of laughter is key. After all no one – and certainly not your neighbors and the neighborhood will not complain that all is festive and that everyone in the party and celebration is having a great time. Your whole intention , by hosting this celebration or even a couple celebrations are to drive out the xiaoren ( shiaoren) or those little people and little things that have been the root and cause of all this discord between you and your neighbors and within the neighborhood as a whole. If you can conduct the ritual of ridding the neighborhood and the whole area of this xiaroren or shiaoren by physically drawing these little people on paper and then burning or in a more modern twist shredding these pieces of paper in an office or hotel paper shredder. Remember no matter what you are trying to restore peace, harmony and the vital relationships between yourself and your neighbors. It’s all in the quest of peace, peace of mind and fun.

Lastly as a point of emphasis. This is not a one shot deal. You are trying to change and emphasize vital key pillars of your community. These celebratory events with all their rituals and full complement of guests and attendees must be held on a regular and even ongoing basis.
